I'm Just Saying...!

I find it interesting that all these new age types who believe the "Universe" is out to bless them are teaching and regurgitating wisdom they learned from Believers. They have read and listened to materials from great leaders who also taught about the Source of their success.

However, when they pass on the wisdom they have gleaned, they conveniently leave out the part about having a relationship with God. These secular humanist types do a good job of training people to expect the blessings that belong to the sons of God as though they are just as entitled to the children's bread as we are. Unfortunately, they are living in harvest because they practice the spiritual laws that we often ignore.

God said if we give, it will be given unto us.

God said if we obey, we will eat the good of the land.

God said if we speak, we'll have what we say.

Those who teach new age stuff do all those things and reap the harvest of their obedience to God's universal laws. How much  more should we, God's sons, obey the laws he set in place to bless us???

Fortunately, the wealth of the wicked is being stored up for us, and God told us not to worry about their current success. We already know the outcome.

It just seems so strange to me that it  has taken me so long to come around, to get to the place of obedience, when the "world" obeys without much effort. I'm just saying...!

The Phoenix- Recovering from a Setback

How to Recover from a Setback

For a longtime I’ve been fascinated by the ancient mythology of the phoenix, a sacred firebird.  It’s said to be an eagle like creature with beautiful gold and red plumage. At the end of its life-cycle she makes and burns a nest of cinnamon twigs; reduces herself to ashes, from which a new, young phoenix arises to her glory. The new phoenix embalms the ashes of the old phoenix in an egg made of myrrh and deposits it in an Egyptian city. After thousands of years the process begins again. After reading many pieces of literature about this story, there is evidence of this typology relating to Christ. In contrast, we too can rise again to our glory once more with a few practical steps:

Getting Organized.

Have you ever felt irritated?  At your wits end?  Perhaps you started to clean your house fanatically and felt better? In the same way, I have found that organizing or cleaning a mess in my home or office has literally re-routed stresses in my life. There must be a scientific breakthrough that I have yet to find but most women can agree that emotional stresses can be tied to physical or environmental chaos; whether internal or external.  When our environments are cluttered, bodies are tattered, and minds are emotionally hay-wired; it leaves plenty room for unexpected turbulences. Consequently, incidents do occur and you may feel less prepared to handle the situation with ease, power and control.  When I’m serious about getting back on my feet from a blow I often reflect on the Marines.  A military friend once told me that they considered themselves a “force in readiness”.  That fascinated me.  What if a Marine operating force was caught off their guard?  What if they were found out of shape, unorganized, lacked ammunition, and were sleeping on the job? This behavior could cost them unnecessary losses. In comparison, what would it take for you to be a “force in readiness”? Disorganization schedules a future setback in life that could be prevented. Being organized may not always prevent setbacks however it will help manage them better to position your next comeback!

Plan Your Strategy.

Someone once said, every winner plans to win and every loser never plans. The truth is, no matter how hard one may try, without a plan one STILL may fail.  If you want to produce optimum results you must plan it. What will it take to recover from your setback?  What are the steps necessary? Who do you need to talk to get the answers?  If you are recovering from a major setback,   it’s going to take some extra effort on one’s part to go forward. In addition to planning your strategy; plan your comeback. I serve myself a maximum 2-day notice (it used to be 3-day) to be irritated or unproductive regarding a situation. How long will you be agitated?  I like to compare planning to one who prepares their body for a marathon.  She put’s herself through uncommon rigorous routines to shape and mold herself for victory.  The goal is to win. To help recover from a setback you will need the most powerful yet practical tools necessary to win: a pen and paper.

1.       Find quiet time every morning to meditate.  Use this time to visualize your comeback.  What will you look like? What will you are doing?  Who will be around you?  Where are you going?

2.       Before you leave your quiet place, journal your thoughts in detail in a notebook.

3.       Write down 1-3 things you will accomplish for that day. Stick to it.

Just Start.

Someone once told me, when I was struggling to get myself motivated to exercise that if I commit to as little as 5 minutes a day, that it would make a difference in my level of fitness.  In my reluctant compliance to these “words of wisdom” of a retired personal trainer (I was willing to try anything) I awakened to my clocks hideous ring at 5:30 am in the morning. I propelled into my work-out clothes, grabbed my car keys and drove to place where the insane people congregate to obtain “wellness” called the gym.  Jogging up the stairs ready to take on the world with my 5- minute workout.  I stepped on the big black machine and programmed it for 5 minutes. Surprisingly, once I started I periodically increased the minutes and found I was exercising at least 20-40 minutes a day! Interestingly enough, I wanted to do MORE.  So I did.  For 6 weeks I used the “5 minute work-out plan” along with proper diet and lost 7 pounds. The art of the start is doing it but not over doing it!

The Phoenix bird in essence can teach us plenty. Miraculously, this bird was also said to regenerate when hurt or wounded by an enemy. In the same way, life can bring disappointments, setbacks and perhaps an enemy or two along the way. However, we can utilize these steps to regenerate our life-cycle and rise above the ashes of circumstances to build our character.

Philippians 4:19

You know how the Bible says that God never allows us to suffer temptation beyond that which we can bear? And how it says that with every temptation He makes a way to escape it? Well, according to Philippians 4:19, the way to escape wrong, negative, unproductive thinking is to think something else. You can't eliminate bad thinking by saying, "I'm not going to think that." Change can only come by replacing it with something else. So, think on these things...!"

The Truth

Once the truth has been identified WE must go after it aggressively. The truth is that you will not be able to live your kingdom assignment approaching it passively. You see, there are invisible forces that will not sit back and watch you advance your life to its fullest potential without causing an aversion. The moment you decide in your heart to do something that will add to your God-given destiny; resistance will come. The evil one will begin to pull out his ole bag of tricks that have worked on you in the past. I call them "back off bullies" the attempt is to get you to back off (phone calls of a distressed loved one, arguments with spouse, someone rubbed you the wrong way, past addictions, past relationships, physical symptoms, hectic schedule, emergency at work, your favorite TV show...)THERE WILL ALWAYS BE SOMETHING that will try to dilute your power. James said there will be trials and tribulations. Paul called them minor afflictions. I sometimes call it PEOPLE!
The key lies in Matthew 11:12 when it declares that the kingdom of heavens suffers violence and the violent take it by force! This is a kingdom mindset. In order to continue in your true heavenly calling you must be forceful and intense about where you are going and have the perserverance to maintain it. I believe this very moment someone is reading this right now and the enemy has caused you chaos in your life to destroy you but I DECLARE what the enemy has meant to destroy will make you indestr-uctible! In Jesus Name!

What somebody said about you can't defeat you!

A missed opportunity does not deny you!

What somebody thinks about you is not your business!

You losing your job is a set-up for your promotion!

Paul said it like this:

We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed!

Prayer That Changes You

“Prayer Doesn’t Change God It Changes You.”

This tiny phrase astounded me since the first time I heard it over 15 years ago.  It’s funny but through the years I have grown to know less and less about God. The more I thought I knew the less I knew. The less I knew the more I seemed to understand! I can only tell you what I have learned in my own life and experiences.

By spending countless hours in prayer, I have found that prayer formats my mind, spirit and heart to be in complete alignment with Him. God’s intentions are already engrafted in our hearts and through prayer we are awakening and perfecting what has been in our spirit since our very existence. This is where we become more like him.  You can completely be transformed mentally and spiritually through prayer.  Prayer is the single most greatest gift from God to be used as a connection point to Him.
When we pray it should not be about “calling God to action”.  When we pray it should be about opening our eyes to see him already in action.  Prayer leads us to aligning the earth realm with the heavenly realm.  Spending time in prayer enhances what I call our supernatural sensory levels. These levels will increase when we spend time with the Father. You will be able to see and hear more clearly what God is doing in your life by devoting time in prayer. Many people have their different philosposies on how much you suppose to spend in your personal prayer time.  I choose to think of it as how close you want to be with Him.  What kind of results you want in your life? Are you comfortable with fluctuations or spouts of trouble, disappointments, fear or seasons of doubt? Can you afford to be going in the wrong direction or do you have a lot of time to waste? If you answered no to these questions, the best answer is to develop a “consistant” prayer time with God where you can conversate and hear what he is downloading in your spirit on a daily basis. The more you bask in his prescence the more you will become like him...
